The Latin chant text taken from Liber Usualis [Matt. 2 in the Vulgate] was paraphrased and set in the present tense by the composer. It is troped with excerpts of a poem, “The Fountain of Shadowy Beauty” by George William (“A.E.”) Russell (1867-1935). A winner in the 2007 Essentially Choral Program of the American Composers Forum and VocalEssence, Philip Brunelle, conductor.
