Oratorium nach Bildern der Bibel is an oratorio by Fanny Mendelssohn which she wrote at the end of the cholera epidemic in Berlin as an act of thanksgiving. Carmen-Helena Téllez adapted it for woodwind quintet, string quintet and piano at the request of her graduate conducting student Erin Wendt, who wished to present a concert of works by women composers, and could not afford a full-fledged orchestra. The oratorio seems suitable for concerts after our Covid pandemic of 2020-2021.
Duration: ca. 30 minutes
Text: A compilation by Fanny Mendelssohn of scenes from the Bible.
